for a first game is good, also makes a little bit fun, but the player has no collision and you can add a game over screen. you can also add sounds like a jump and game over sound, so the game feel doesn´t quite.
I give you a tip, for the sounds can you use sfxr, is a simple sound generator, I use it also
Words can't possibly express how much this game humbled me. From a serious standpoint however, this could be a rather fine item for a College project. Splendid job.
